Taking Care of Your REDANT Dog Bed: Washing, Cleaning & Maintenance

Proper Care for Long-Lasting Use

Proper care of your REDANT dog bed can significantly extend its lifespan. By following a few simple rules for each material, you will be rewarded with a bed that lasts your dog a lifetime.

Wash Covers and Cushions Separately

All REDANT dog beds are modular, meaning all inner fillings can be removed from the covers and washed separately. Besides cleaning small stains with a damp cloth and lukewarm water, we recommend always washing covers and fillings separately. This allows you to adapt the cleaning method to each specific material.

Cleaning the Covers

All our cover materials in the classic, corduroy, velvet and faux leather versions are made from 100% polyester (PES). Under the top layer is a polyurethane water-repellent membrane that protects the inner cushions from moisture and dirt.

Minor stains and moisture can simply be wiped off with a damp cloth and lukewarm water.

Heavily soiled covers can be machine washed at 30 °C. For washing and cleaning all REDANT bed components, we recommend using our hypoallergenic laundry strips specially developed for dog beds and clothing.

We do not recommend washing covers above 30 °C, using fabric softener or tumble drying, as higher temperatures may damage the water-repellent layer. Also avoid aggressive chemical detergents, which may harm both the fabric and your dog.

Hollow Fibre Fillings

Cushions filled with hollow fibre can be washed at temperatures up to 60 °C. This ensures reliable elimination of mites and bacteria.

They can also be tumble dried, which restores their fluffiness and helps maintain their shape and volume.

Memory Foam

Memory foam cushions must not be machine washed or tumble dried. We recommend cleaning them manually with lukewarm water and a gentle detergent, preferably only in the affected area.

Dry in the shade at room temperature, not in direct sunlight or near heat sources, which could deform the foam.

Hypoallergenic Laundry Strips

Our hypoallergenic laundry strips were developed specifically for washing dog beds and clothing. They are effective even at low temperatures and suitable for allergy sufferers – both dogs and owners. They contain no aggressive chemicals or fragrances and are gentle on both materials and skin.

How NOT to Clean REDANT Dog Beds

• Do not wash covers above 30 °C – higher temperatures damage the water-repellent polyurethane layer.
• Do not use fabric softener or aggressive detergents.
• Do not machine wash or tumble dry the memory foam. Clean it manually with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Dry in the shade.
• Do not wash the bed as a whole – always wash covers and fillings separately.
